The 2017 Ford Shelby GT350 is not your everyday Mustang; it’s the Mustang a lot of us have wanted for years. It’s all-muscle, all-powerful and it’s no longer a rhino that can only run in a straight line without losing balance.
The GT350, weighing 3,791 pounds, is powered by a V8 engine that produces 526 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque. It uses Brembo brakes; the front brakes are 15.5 inches with six pistons. And it also has electric-assist steering; this lets you change the direction of the GT350 just by squeezing the steering wheel.
Ford also makes the Track Pack a standard feature instead of optional, letting you enjoy its options and pick the options you want. The contents of the package include a rear deck-lid spoiler, extra coolers, and aluminum strut tower brace and MagneRide active dampers.
Even so, buyers still have the choice of selecting parts and items from the previous Technology Package. As for the Technology Package, it has been split into the Electronics Package and the Convenience Package.
The Electronics Package contains 9-speaker audio system, voice-activated navigation and SYNC 3. The Convenience Package, on the other hand, includes everything in the Electronics Package and adds power-adjustable leather-trimmed sport seats.
As for the colors, there are three new options: Grabber Blue, Ruby Red Metallic and Lightning Blue. These replace last year’s Competition Orange and Deep Impact Blue, and join the series’ Shadow Black, Avalanche Gray, Triple Yellow, Race Red, Oxford White and Magnetic.
The cars will retail from around $56,000. This costs the same as the previous base model, but with the now-standard Track Pack, which used to cost an extra $6,500.
The 2017 Ford Shelby GT350 is undoubtedly the Shelby most of us have been waiting for. Its fast, has finally made standard the features we’ve all wanted, and its pure muscle.
